Why was this booklet written?
Before the introduction of computers all tasks were done manually, pen to paper, physically use of a calculator or something similar.
Compare that with work scene today. Computer keyboards enable us to key endlessly, without the slightest hesitation. Job expectations and the flow of work encourage just that. Deadlines dominate, production quotas and schedules exert new pressures on masses of people. The reality is that we are spending too much time glued at our screens.
Stress, whether mental, physical, or psychological, affects everyone and occurs when demands tax or exceed the ability to copy with change in hand. When an event or situation is threatening, the human body reacts in many ways, as if it is in danger.
PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE.
We are all responsible for our own well-being at the workplace. MASCOT is a reference/guide to help you achieve this.
